Billy Mustapha

Billy was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He began pursuing his love of dance at the age of seven at Dance Spectrum, where he immersed himself into every genre offered.

By the time he was 17 years old, Billy was training with Sarah Dolan of O2 Dance Company, Universesoul Hip Hop Company, and was named Triple Threat Dance Convention’s Achievement Award Winner. As the Achievement Award Winner, Billy worked closely with some of the top choreographers in the industry, including Megan Lawson, Jillian Meyers, Tina Landon, Nick Lanzisera, Tyce Diorio, Luther Brown, and Kelly Konno. Later that year, Billy made the move to Vancouver and joined the Intensive Training Program at Harbour Dance Centre, under the direction of Moe Brody, and started training with TwoFourSeven Hip Hop Company.

While living in Vancouver, Billy has had the pleasure of working as a dancer and skeleton crew on several prestigious projects such as ABC’s Once Upon A Time, Disney’s Freaky Friday, Star Struck: A Cinderella Story, Christmas Chronicles Two with choreographer Christopher Scott, and on Disney’s Descendants 3, under the direction of Kenny Ortega and Jamal Sims. Most recently, Billy has been working as a series regular on seasons one and two of NBC’s hit TV show, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, with Emmy award winning choreographer Mandy Moore. Billy has worked on national TV commercials, including his work as the assistant choreographer on Apple’s commercial The Stuntman, alongside choreographer Jillian Meyers.

Billy has a passion for storytelling through movement and choreography. He is grateful for the mentorship and guidance of role models in the industry, who have inspired him to develop as a dancer and choreographer.

Billy is appreciative of the friendships and connections that dance has fostered, both in and outside of the dance community. Currently, Billy is living between Canada and the United States, while he continues to pursue his love of dance.
